- Measure the circumference of each child's head and note.
- Cut 2-3 inch strips of corrugated cardboard (a mailing box) in the measurement of their head + one inch for gluing.
- Let each child choose 1-3 feathers for headdress.
- Have an adult (you) dab a dot of glue onto feather end and poke into a corrugated cardboard hole. This will look best if done toward the edges of the band so that it will be near the back.
- Wrap band around child's head to adjust so it's snug, then hot glue it - end to end.
- Place hat on child.

So, it begins...
We are heading in to Thanksgiving. Right now, I'm scrambling to sew a closet of holiday clothes for my toddler girl. I want to make the kids Thanksgiving as thick with history, culture, and traditions as possible.
Today, we began our door turkey. It is a naked turkey made of felt and googly eyes, wearing an obnoxious pilgrim hat. Each day we clothe him in a construction paper feather with a thing for which we are thankful scribbled on it with crayon.
As I jam to The Black Eyed Peas, I invite you to craft with me. Sew with me. Goof up with me!
